I spotted this luminous green donkey seems to be protecting the local housing estate.
- Donkeys can live for over 50 years.
- Donkeys are very strong and intelligent
- Donkeys have an incredible memory – they can recognise areas and other donkeys they were with up to 25 years ago.
- Donkeys protect other communities. They make acceptable guardians of sheep, goats and calves. Often the sheep or goats come to see the larger donkey as protective and will gather near it if they perceive a threat. Donkeys can protect against a single fox, coyote, roaming dog and possibly a bobcat.
- Donkeys are often fielded with horses due to the perceived calming effect they have on nervous horses. They are like social workers.
